Topic overview:

Foreign trade and investment play a big role in the local economy. The pace of foreign direct investment in local projects is increasing again, as are both in-bound business investment and new exports for local companies. Louise will provide information on Tacoma area projects, the current status of our relationship with China and other investor countries, and an update on the Trans-Pacific Partnership treaty and Ex-Im Bank.

Bio:

Louise is a regionally known and highly experienced executive with proven expertise providing financial and operational management to companies experiencing beginning, mid-level and, rapid growth. With over 25 years of senior level financial and operational experience, Louise consulted for companies in the biotech, hi-tech, distribution, manufacturing, construction, retail, agriculture, financial services and not for profit sectors. Currently, Louise is the leader of the only full-service trade center in the Pacific Northwest providing services to the Port of Tacoma, the City of Tacoma, and a variety of importers, exporters, and international services providers in the region. This office coordinates in-bound and out-bound trade missions and facilitates Foreign Direct Investment to public and private projects in the region. The WTC also provides education and social programs with an international business focus to association members and the community.
