Building Houses, Building Hope

TCT Habitat for Humanity Day
Each year, TCT members plan a Saturday to provide lunch and help build with Habitat for Humanity volunteers. This event is a wonderful opportunity to witness firsthand how funds raised at the Spring Open contribute to providing safe, decent, and affordable housing to low-income families in Pierce County.
Transportation Club of Tacoma gives big in 2015. It marks the third year Transportation Club of Tacoma has participated in our Team Habitat program. This year, the group got to do something very special – participate in the wall raising at our 2015 Building on Faith house.
At Habitat for Humanity, a wall raising is one of the most powerful events our volunteers, donors, and advocates can attend. Raising a wall at a Habitat house is symbolic of new opportunity and hope.
When Transportation Club of Tacoma comes out for a group build day they do more than supply volunteer labor; they also prepare a barbecue feast for volunteers, partner families, and staff. Many members have participated year after year in build days, or by donating time and money to help Habitat for Humanity’s mission.
