DecemberFlyerEFN 2015

Location: Tacoma Yacht Club
5401 N Waterfront Dr, Tacoma, WA 98407

Each December our club holds the Emergency Food Network Food Drive and Fundraiser at our Christmas luncheon. All proceeds from the event go to EFN who’ll use the proceeds to feed local people in our community. The event includes a visit from the local high school choir and speakers who bring in the Christmas spirit by helping auction off great gifts for the membership. This past December we raised $32,000. What’s even more incredible is how much food we can expect our efforts will produce. Currently, EFN is able to convert every $1 raised into $12 worth of food. This means that we were able to bring in $384,000 worth of food to the people in our community. Our membership is thrilled they can have such a huge impact in our community.

Since 1999, we have been able to raise over 1 million dollars in food for EFN. Come join us at our December luncheon where we’ll once again bring you a little Christmas joy and goodwill to the people in our community.

Come join us on our fall team habitat build on Saturday, October 3rd, 2015.

We will gather at 8:30am at the Swan Creek Build site.  Swan Creek is Tacoma/Pierce County Habitat for Humanity’s newest neighborhood. Located on East 40th Street, just west of Portland Avenue, Swan Creek will consist of five single-family homes. The first home at Swan Creek is scheduled for dedication by the end of 2015.

To sign up or for any questions you may have, please contact Mark Macleod (253-5851-9407) or Tracey at Habitat (253-627-5626).

Building A Foundation With Our Community

The first three homes at The Woods at Golden Given are well underway. When complete, The Woods will offer 30 units of affordable homeownership to low-income families in Pierce County.

Each June, TCT members plan a Saturday to provide lunch to Habitat for Humanity volunteers. This year, TCT also had volunteers to help with the build.

This was a wonderful opportunity to witness first hand how funds raised at the Spring Open contribute to the building of new homes.

A big thank you to TCT Board member Mark MacLeod of Best-Ways for coordinating this event!

We had a great time at the 2013 Habitat Day! Take a look at these photos.

Hole-in-One at Hi Jinks!

Paul Sitkowski of Mercer Distribution & Transport scores a Hole-in-One at Hi Jinks! Paul wins two round-trip tickets to anywhere in the continental US!

Nothing stops a Hi Jinks golfer!

A big thank you to hole-in-one sponsor Peter Carlander of Orbit-TWD!

What a beautiful day for the golf tournament! Lucky golfer Paul Sitlowski said he got his hole-in-one with the McKinney golf ball that was just given to him by Lori Kincannon of McKinney Trailer. Paul used his 1968 7-iron to make the winning shot 180 yards into Hole 13!

For 32 years, the Hi Jinks Scholarship Golf Tournament has served as our clubs largest fundraiser! All proceeds from the tournament are used to support our annual Scholarship Program. This programs success has led us to constantly contribute $10,000 to $19,500 to various numbers of students each year. Last year’s tournament helped us to provide $19,500 to 20 students at our June 2012 Scholarship luncheon.

Habitat For Humanity Day!

We had a great time at our annual Habitat for Humanity day on June 9, 2012!

Construction is currently in full swing on houses in the Ainsworth Vista neighborhood!

This was a wonderful opportunity to witness first hand how funds raised at the Spring Open contribute to the building of new homes. We also had the opportunity to tour the local job site. Several TCT Board members and members of their families were there to prepare and serve lunch to some awesome Habitat volunteers who were working on building the houses at Ainsworth.

Thank you to Mark Macleod of Best-Ways for coordinating this event!
