American Shipper has published a new research report – “Supply Chain Manager Benchmark Study – Role, Compensation and Career” written by James Blaeser, Publisher. It was written in partnership with Council of Supply Chain Management Professionals, Georgia Tech, Executive Masters International Logistics & Supply Chain Strategy, Bravo Solution and CDC Software.
This report covers Career Path & Compensation, Job Satisfaction, The Gender Gap, Supply Chain Education, The Supply Chain Department, Job Roles & Responsibilities and Key Trends & Best Practices.
Here is an excerpt from the Executive Summary:
Welcome to American Shipper’s first study covering you, the supply chain practitioner. This confidential survey, co-produced with The Georgia Institute of Technology’s EMIL-SCS Executive Master’s Program, is designed to give you — and your management, if you choose to share the report — a gauge on roles, responsibilities, compensation and opportunities prevalent in the industry today.
So much is written about industry trends, issues and events while very little is said about the people who make this industry dynamic and important. This report aims to shed light on these practitioners in an attempt to create a higher level of visibility into the profession and hopefully a benchmark from which we can all improve as we move forward.
The following study results are based on responses from more than 400 qualified supply chain practitioners, including retailers, manufacturers, third-party logistics providers and carriers. The 30-question survey was opened on June 28 and closed on July 25. Multiple promotions were sent via e-mail to American Shipper’s database of subscribers and contacts to acquire the necessary level of participation.
